Consulting
HPF maintains a reputation for high office standards and produces concise, detailed documentation that is easily interpreted and supported by up-to-date technology. Our offices are fully equipped with the latest AutoCAD and REVIT workstations and state-of-the-art design software for all areas of mechanical design. HPF is a member of the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC), and we are well versed in the requirements of green building design. We have a LEED Accredited Professional on staff and the ability to do energy modelling. We maintain current product catalogues and technical support literature to produce cutting-edge solutions that meet all codes and standards.
HPF is one of the few mechanical design firms that offer specialized fire protection hydraulic design and code interpretations. Our team members actively research and implement fire protection design for heavy industrial plants, institutional projects, residential facilities, and other commercial applications. We maintain excellent communication networks with building code officials and industry authorities to stay on the cutting edge of design solutions.
Design
At HPF, we believe that communication is the foundation of a successful project. We strive to be open and listen to our clients’ needs then implement innovative technical solutions to achieve all project goals. HPF has acted as a prime consultant on many projects. This experience has given us the expertise to oversee the coordination, design development, and supervision of a design team on large-scale mechanical projects. We believe that the flow of information to each member of a project team is important in maintaining a clear path from the start to the conclusion of the project. A principal member of the firm will act with our design team to oversee and guide each team member throughout the entire project and to provide a communication path from HPF to the client and other consultants.
Procurement
HPF can be responsible for your negotiation and award of equipment/material supply contracts and construction to meet your client and project requirements. Our services also include project inspection to ensure that technical specifications and delivery schedules are respected. Our procurement activities involve developing a bidders list, bid documentation preparation, response to bidder questions, bid reception and registration, technical evaluations, contract preparation (CCDC 2 standard), and construction management.
Review
As part of our project management services, HPF provides reviews of shop drawings, record drawings, maintenance manuals, contract documents, and occupancy documents. Field reviews on-site at various intervals of construction will observe the quality and progress of the project and written reports will document observations and deficiencies. We are behind you through every stage of your project.
